Q: Show me a unit conversion example.
A: Here is an example of converting the speed of light
from meters/second to miles/second.
From the Insert menu, select Physics Reference.
Select the Search button and type "light". When the speed
of light constant (c) appears, click on the title to
insert the definition into a problem. It should look like
this:
From the Insert menu, select Table. Enter in the table a
variable for the speed of light in miles per second. We'll
call it "L". Add the units - mi/s. (Optional: Move to the
end of the table and erase the two empty lines from the
table.) Now it should look like this.
Type an equation asking for L, which is c converted to
mi/s. (To get the conversion operator type c-v-u-space.)
This should result in a calculator appearing, like this.
Click the calculator, and Equator will calculate the
result.
